This programme aims to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence to raise community awareness of, health related issues, holistic approaches to health and, to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programmes. Learners will develop an understanding of the key concepts, principles and practices of health promotion and the determinants of physical, mental and social health so that they may encourage individuals and communities to take control over and improve their health. The course will be of benefit to those volunteering or working in the community or those who have an interest in health and social issues.
