The Diploma in Health Services Management for Nurses is a professional programme, aimed at those who wish to position themselves in more senior managerial posts within the Nursing and Health Services fields. Registered Nurses and Midwives will receive An Bord Altranais Post-Registration Category 1 Approval
Course Content:
Management in a Healthcare Setting
Principles, theory, change management & application.
Career Management: Nursing Competence Management. Financial Management
Risk Assessment and Clinical Audit. Stress Management
Health Promotion Management
Leadership Development & New Emerging Leadership behaviours
This course is mainly lecture based with workshops and seminars given by health professionals to help develop personal skills. The assessment process consists of two coursework assignments carried out over the year of study.
Entry Requirements: Qualifications
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they have the relevant qualification for entry into the course. Applicants must be graduates of the Certificate in Management for Nursing Staff (VEC Certificate) or BSc in Nursing. Evidence of qualifications must be produced on the first night of class.
