This module is designed to enable students to develop, implement and evaluate an equality and diversity approach for the Early Years. Students will explore issues of equality and diversity in contemporary Ireland and will learn how to implement the Diversity and Equality Guidelines for Childcare Providers (2016).

Module content:

Approaches to equality and diversity in an ECCE setting

Current legislation and research pertaining to equality and diversity

Identify barriers to equality and diversity in an ECCE setting

Devise mechanisms for reducing discrimination
